theDANCEparty

for people who just wanna get the f*ck down

Welcome to

the DANCE party

-- a soul-quenching, sweat-inducing love fest powered by the moviest & grooviest of funk, disco and HOUSE!

We are here to bust the norms of nightlife - and create a culture of movement and connection - a party where people are fully present & actually dancing their mf asses off.

HOW WE DO IT

wait wut? there’s rules?

yeah. but they’re here to make the party better, just trust us.

  1. No drinks in the center of the dance floor

We encourage you to try dancing fully - with your whole body & maybe even with others! How are you supposed to do that while balancing a cup of liquid in one hand? nah. Finish your drink before entering the center of the dance floor. Your friends (and the non-sticky floor) will thank you.

2. No phones…anywhere really

Let’s be honest, we can all use a break from our tiny pocket computers. The party is not that long, so unless you’re snapping that one epic shot, please use this time to disconnect from the outside world and connect with yourself & the dope humxns around you.

3. Love and respect everyone

The other two are suggestions. This one is non-negotioble.

This is a supportive space built on CONSENT. While we are all about interaction and grooving down with each other, we must be aware of the space and boundaries of other dancers. And always receive enthusiastic consent before entering someone’s personal bubble or touching them!

Who’s in charge here?

Karley “BOOMKAT” Willocks is a multi-disciplinary musician & dancer who found herself in Cincinnati amid the chaos of a global pandemic in 2020. Upon arrival, she noticed that the house music scene in Cincy was thriving, but she wondered “where are all the dance parties?” Having come from NYC with dance communities like The Get Down Party and Daybreaker, Karley has seen what is possible when organizers prioritize presence & connection over substances & status. So, she set out to learn how to DJ & meet as many dope artists, dancers & DJs as she possibly can, so that - together - we can create the wildest, most embodied dance floor Cincy has ever seen.

The time is now.

We need to dance. We need to feel connected to humanity and have a safe place to let out our fear, frustration, grief, joy & exaltation. We need to feel PART of something. This is why we party.

The DANCE party is not just another nightlife event, it is the beginning of a movement - a culture of humxns who want to feel seen & expressed & reminded that there is so much to love & be grateful for. And if we cannot find it in the world around us, we will create it.

Let’s

It’s not a party without you.

go.
